Education Ministry ("the Ministry," "we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Email address and first name (optional) — only when you choose to start the Civic Virtue Challenge or join our email list. These are collected through our email provider, Kit (formerly ConvertKit).
- Basic usage events — first-party, aggregate analytics about which pages and lessons are viewed and completed. We use these to improve the lessons. We do not sell this data or use it to build advertising profiles.
- We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect payment information on this public site. Donations and membership are handled on our secure platform, which has its own privacy terms.
How we use it
- To deliver the lessons and the email sequence you signed up for.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the free curriculum is used so we can improve it.
- To respond to you if you contact us.
How we share it
We share your information only with the service providers who help us operate — our email provider (Kit) and our own hosting/analytics — and only as needed to deliver what you asked for. We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law.
Your choices
- You can unsubscribe from any email using the link in the footer of that email.
- You can request that we delete the personal information we hold about you by writing to the address below.
- You can use the site without submitting any personal information — the lessons are readable without signing up.
Cookies
We use only the minimal cookies/first-party storage needed for the site to function and for aggregate analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Children
Our materials are written for adults and families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
